- Strong leadership – Our seven member Policy and Planning Committee (PPC) comes from across all our areas of focus and regions. The PPC is responsible for developing our vision, policies and strategies and is our ultimate decision-making body.
- Agility – We recognize that to thrive a law firm must embrace change. We must be agile. We are constantly looking at how we operate and how we drive value for our clients. As an example, it is what led to the firm’s partnership with Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business to pilot artificial intelligence (AI) programs that will improve legal services. The initiative explores how AI, particularly data analytics, can identify business trends, develop litigation strategies and increase efficiency.
- Business Development Support - As a new partner or counsel coming into the firm, we make sure you get the resources you need. Partners at all levels will join you in introductory meetings or pitches with both clients and prospects. Our business development staff will be there to help with targeting, networking events and proposals.
- Collaboration – We place a high value on teamwork and collaboration and consider it a competitive advantage in serving our clients and integrating new lawyers. We encourage new partners to assume leadership roles in our offices and practice sections.
- Financial Stability – COVID has brought unprecedented challenges to the world economy and the legal profession. Despite this, Phelps has maintained a very solid financial footing. Fiscally, we run a tight ship with little or no debt. Overall, our strong balance sheet frees us to make the best decisions for our business and focus on our future.
