Chambers USA 2022 Ranks 19 Phelps Practice Areas and 56 Lawyers
NEW ORLEANS — June 1, 2022 — Phelps lawyers and practices showed their strongest performance on a list released today of premier lawyers and law firms across the country. Chambers USA recognized 56 Phelps lawyers in its 2022 edition. The guide also ranked Phelps as a leading law firm in 19 practice areas.
For the 18th straight year, Phelps’ Transportation: Shipping/Maritime: Litigation (outside New York) practice was nationally ranked. The guide praised Phelps as a “formidable presence in the Gulf Coast region, particularly regarding issues involving the oil industry” with “both brown-water and blue-water capacity” and “deep industry expertise, sought after by multinational companies, shipowners and underwriters, including major P&I clubs.”
Three Phelps lawyers in this practice were also recognized on the national level, with clients highlighting their “honest, candid legal advice” and crediting them as “excellent, practical and savvy” and “timely, organized and focused on the critical issues.”
