Chris Ralston Installed as President of Louisiana Bar Foundation
New Orleans — May 12, 2021 — Phelps partner Chris Ralston has been installed as president of the Louisiana Bar Foundation (LBF). Chris has served on LBF’s Board of Directors since 2014. His term as president began in April 2021 and will run through April 2022.
The Louisiana Bar Foundation works to preserve, honor and improve our justice system. It funds, develops and promotes efforts to enhance the legal profession, increase public understanding of the legal system and advance the reality of equal justice under the law. As the largest state funder of civil legal aid, LBF partners with more than 70 trusted organizations that lead community driven actions to help families facing non-criminal, civil legal challenges. Since 1989, the LBF has distributed more than $94 million to hundreds of Louisiana non-profits to meet these goals.
Chris is a litigation partner and practice coordinator for the firm’s New Orleans Litigation Group. His cases span a broad range of commercial litigation issues, including intellectual property, commercial real estate disputes, trade secret and cyber disputes and tax litigation.
In addition to his legal work, Chris is a recent board chairman for the Pro Bono Project, Louisiana Community Leadership board chair for the American Diabetes Association and a member of and officer for the ADA’s National Board of Directors, and a member of the Louisiana Access to Justice Commission. Chris currently serves as president of the Tulane Alumni Association. He is also a recent past president of the New Orleans Bar Association and current president of the New Orleans Bar Association’s Inn of Court.
