Coast Guard Issues Guidance for Gulf Coast Ports in Hurricane Laura's Path

Hurricane Laura is forecast to make landfall near the Texas and Louisiana coasts as a Category 4 storm early Thursday morning. The U.S. Coast Guard issued Marine Safety Information Bulletins (MSIBs) for Galveston, Houston, Port Arthur, Lake Charles and New Orleans. These MSIBs list current storm-related operational requirements and recommendations. Read the MSIBs below:

• Houston-Galveston MSIB 35-20
• Port Arthur-Lake Charles MSIB 14-20
• New Orleans MSIB 20-94

The Coast Guard also issued a more general news release urging safety preparations ahead of Hurricane Laura.
