David Patrón Honored With IADC Joan Fullam Irick Award
NEW ORLEANS, La. – Aug. 14, 2023 - Phelps partner David Patrón was honored with the Joan Fullam Irick Award by the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC).
IADC is an invitation-only, peer reviewed member organization that connects leading corporate and defense attorneys and insurance executives across the globe. Named in honor of the late Joan Fullam Irick, President of the IADC from 2002-2003, the annual award honors a committee chair from the more than 30 IADC committees for outstanding work. David was recognized for developing substantive monthly programming in his role as Chair of the Cyber Security, Data Privacy and Technology Committee, which addresses substantive laws globally affected by burgeoning technologies, increasing cybersecurity, and data privacy guidelines and issues.
As head of Phelps’ litigation practice, David represents some of the biggest names in technology, oil and gas, entertainment, and other industries. With more than 25 years of practice, he has earned a reputation for excellence and integrity at all levels of state and federal courts. Whether defending an alleged breach of contract or prosecuting a claim of breach of fiduciary duty, David focuses on finding real-world business solutions for clients.
David is a Past Chairman for the Louisiana Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section, as well as Past Chairman for LBA’s Mediation Registry Committee.
David was named “Lawyer of the Year” in Litigation-Intellectual Property and has been named among The Best Lawyers in America. He has also been recognized by Chambers USA and has been on the Louisiana Super Lawyers List for over 10 years.
