In Our Communities: Chris Ralston Selected as Chair of Pro Bono Project Board Of Directors

Phelps Partner Chris Ralston was recently installed as Chair of the Board of Directors of The Pro Bono Project. Chris has actively served on The Pro Bono Project’s Board of Directors since 2011, and has been honored with The Pro Bono Project’s Distinguished Service Award. Additionally, Chris previously served as Chair for the Project’s 2011 Justice For All Ball (JFAB).

Phelps Dunbar is committed to The Pro Bono Project through individual support and firm sponsorship. We encourage our team of attorneys to undertake pro bono representation in cases from The Pro Bono Project. Several of the firm’s attorneys, including Partners Harry Rosenberg and Mary Ellen Roy, have been active on The Pro Bono Project’s Board of Directors and JFAB committees. Phelps has “adopted” the month of January for volunteers at the Self Help Desk at Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans and the month of August at the Self Help Desk at the 24th Judicial District Court for the Parish of Jefferson – both overseen by The Pro Bono Project.

The Pro Bono Project’s continuing mission is to provide free, quality civil legal services to underserved communities in Louisiana. Through engaging volunteer attorneys to render pro bono services, The Pro Bono Project serves clients in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, Plaquemines and Washington parishes. With funding from the Justice For All Ball and other sources, locally and nationally, The Pro Bono Project works in collaboration with other social service providers to improve the quality of life for our clients and for our community.
