Jackson Partner Todd Butler Named to Top 10 of Mississippi Business Journal's "Top 50 Under 40"
JACKSON, Miss. – Todd Butler, a partner in the labor and employment group of Phelps’ Jackson office, has been selected by the Mississippi Business Journal to the Top 10 of its “Top 50 Under 40” award recipients.
Mr. Butler, who focuses his practice on trial and appellate litigation, is equally committed to excellence in the courtroom and the community. In 2016, he was both elected Chairman of the Mississippi Bar’s Appellate Practice Section, a section that works to improve advocacy throughout this State’s court systems, and to the partnership at Phelps. He is an adjunct professor at Mississippi College School of Law and coaches one of the law school’s Moot Court Teams. Mr. Butler also is a member of the Phoenix Club of Jackson, Federalist Society, Capital Area Bar Association, Jackson Young Lawyers Association and a past editor-in-chief of the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association’s quarterly publication.
“Law and business go hand-in-hand. It has been my goal to hold leadership positions in organizations whose goal is to better the profession and improve the quality of legal services in the state of Mississippi. Likewise, I think it is important to help shape the profession for future lawyers, which is why I have remained active through teaching and service at the Mississippi College School of Law,” said Mr. Butler.
