Litigator Jonathan Maples Joins Phelps to Grow Employment Law Practice in Mobile
MOBILE, Ala. — MARCH 6, 2025 — Phelps is pleased to announce that litigator Jonathan Maples has joined the Firm’s Mobile office as counsel.
A versatile lawyer with deep experience in civil litigation and employment law, his addition to the Firm deepens Phelps’ presence in Mobile, the labor and employment capabilities and trial support of clients across Alabama and throughout the Gulf South.

Alabama is known for its business-friendly regulatory environment, but employers must still navigate federal employment laws, labor rights and workplace safety. Jonathan's knowledge of these issues and regulatory processes will help clients meet these challenges. He assists employers mitigate risk through review and analysis of policies and procedures, along with training, both on site and remote.

Jonathan joins Phelps from another Gulf South law firm with Alabama roots. He brings with him almost 20 years of litigation experience with a focus on employment matters, professional liability litigation and construction litigation.
He earned his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law. Maples holds a B.S. in accounting from the University of Alabama’s Culverhouse School of Commerce and Business Administration, where he graduated with distinction.
