Michael B. Victorian Honored for His Service to 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE — JANUARY 28, 2025 — 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge recognized Phelps counsel Michael B. Victorian as its Member of the Year.
Michael currently serves as the organization’s president-elect. He received this award during the annual gala on January 25.
The event celebrated 32 years of mentoring and community impact within the greater Baton Rouge area. It raised important funds for programs dedicated to helping young men in Baton Rouge with mentorship, education, health and wellness, and economic empowerment.
“It is an honor to contribute to building community through the work of 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge,” Michael said.
A member of Phelps’ Baton Rouge Litigation group, Michael defends public and private clients in high-stakes disputes related to business operations, professional liability and company leadership. Employers also rely on his trial experience to manage complex litigation, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination and constitutional cases. He helps businesses implement sustainable practices, address diversity and inclusion, and stay on top of changing employment laws.
An active member of trial teams with a record of favorable verdicts, Michael has helped manufacturers, municipalities and educational institutions negotiate successful pre-trial agreements. He also guides student-athletes and their families, institutions and agencies through the evolving landscape of name, image and likeness rights.
In addition to his leadership with 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge, Michael serves as President of the Louis A. Martinet Legal Society of Baton Rouge, that supports Black Legal professionals and students. He is an adjunct professor at Southern University Law Center and he has taught a professional development course at Louisiana State University’s E.J. Ourso College of Business.
