Michael Victorian Named to Lawyers of Color Hot List 2022
BATON ROUGE, La. – Dec. 27, 2022 – Phelps associate Michael B. Victorian was named to the Lawyers of Color Annual Hot List. The list spotlights early- to mid-career attorneys excelling in the legal profession. Michael focuses his practice on labor and employment and commercial litigation. He represents clients in state and federal court jurisdictions across the country and across industries including package and freight delivery, fueling, construction, education, health care and restaurant franchising. He is also among the firm’s leaders on ESG-related issues.
“We congratulate Michael on receiving this well-deserved recognition,” said Ragan Richard, Baton Rouge managing partner. “In addition to providing outstanding representation and counsel to his clients, Michael is dedicated to counseling and lifting up young people and members of the community through his work with the Boys & Girls Club and 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge.”
“I’m honored to receive this recognition from the Lawyers of Color,” said Michael. “It is my goal to represent my clients well and successfully and to help others in my community see the opportunities that exist and realize their highest potential.”
Lawyers for Color honorees – who work as in-house counsel, government attorneys or law firm associates – are chosen through a two-pronged process. Their selection committee, composed of the editorial staff, fellows and advisers, spent months reviewing nominations from mentors, peers and colleagues, and researching legal publications in order to identify promising candidates. They also made editorial picks based on their research of attorneys who had noteworthy accomplishments, giving special attention to candidates who were active in diversity pipeline initiatives.
