New Orleans Partner Gary Hemphill Named NOBA Maritime Lawyer of the Year
NEW ORLEANS—Phelps Dunbar Partner Gary Hemphill has been recognized by the New Orleans Bar Association (NOBA) as the New Orleans 2018 Maritime Lawyer of the Year. This honor is awarded annually to one NOBA member through a peer vote. Gary is a long-standing member of the Maritime & International Law Committee, highly respected among peers and contributes significantly to the local admiralty bar.
Upon recognition, New Orleans Managing Partner Marshall Redmon noted, “Gary joins three prior Phelps partners—John Sims, Bunkie Healy and Jimmy Roussel—in earning this high distinction. Congratulations, Gary, and thank you for carrying forward the Firm’s long standing reputation for excellence in admiralty.”
Throughout his 35+ year career, Gary has practiced in the area of admiralty litigation. His matter’s routinely involve personal injury, cargo, oil and energy, finance and FD&D.
