Patrick Talley Starts Term as President-Elect of Louisiana State Bar Association
NEW ORLEANS, La. – Nov. 17, 2022 - Phelps partner Patrick A. Talley, Jr., has been elected as the president-elect of the Louisiana State Bar Association for the 2023-2024 term, to be followed by the presidency in 2024-2025.
The Louisiana State Bar Association (LSBA) is the certified bar organization of the state of Louisiana and serves as a resource for both the legal and local community. Pat is an active member of LSBA and the ninth Phelps lawyer elected to the presidency. Pat previously served as LSBA secretary from 2019-2021, on the LSBA Board of Governors from 2013-2017 and he currently serves as a LSBA House of Delegates member for Orleans Parish.
Pat is a partner in the firm’s New Orleans office. He practices primarily in the area of commercial litigation and personal injury defense, focusing on transportation and environmental law with extensive experience within the railroad and chemical industries.
“I am extremely excited to have been nominated and elected as the 84th president of the Louisiana State Bar Association and I feel very honored to be the leader of such a vital organization of over 23,000 lawyer members,” Pat said. “I am particularly looking forward to reengaging our membership to insure a greater access to justice for all of our Louisiana citizens regardless of economic status, and this will be the primary focus of my presidency.”
