Phelps Adds Industry Resource to Construction and Insurance Teams
NEW ORLEANS — August 23, 2021 — Phelps has expanded its construction industry capabilities with the addition of Larry Borda. Larry brings deep experience as both a lawyer and as the AE Focus Group Head of Claims for an international AEI insurer. Larry has literally been on both sides of the table. As a lawyer, he has guided architects, engineers and construction companies through every facet of litigation to resolve claims of loss or injury. As an insurer, he evaluated and managed the risk around a wide spectrum of construction products and claims. He brings both of those perspectives to Phelps.
Larry will be working with our construction industry team helping those involved in construction be successful, whether it be structuring the right contracts, mitigating the risks of complex projects or defending construction-related claims. Larry will be closely monitoring construction industry trends to help ensure our services address the challenges of this rapidly changing industry.
“Larry’s experience advances our capabilities to answer the construction industry’s need for innovative solutions,” said Phelps Managing Partner Marshall Redmon. “His dual track record as a lawyer and an insurer will help shape our services for both construction clients and insurers.”
Marshall Redmon has worked with Larry for many years. “I have worked with Larry to help numerous clients facing a myriad of complex issues. Larry has proven time and time again that his only agenda is how to save the client money. Our clients value not only his industry knowledge, but his manner of solving problems. They find Larry to be forthright and able to get to a solution while keeping all relationships intact.”
