Phelps Advises Kindle Energy in $750 Million Magnolia Power Station Project
Phelps advised Kindle Energy, an experienced developer and operator of power generation fleets with over 60,000 MW of operation experience across all generation technologies, in the development of its $750 million, 700-megawatt Magnolia Power Generating Station in Iberville Parish. The facility will produce enough electricity to power more than 500,000 homes per year and provide electricity directly to five rural utility cooperatives across Louisiana starting in 2025.
Phelps’ role involved the acquisition of the project site and related property interests, negotiation of the credit facility and financing arrangements, and advising on various environmental and governmental matters related to the project.
More information about the project can be obtained from the Louisiana Economic Development’s press release.
The project team was led by business partners Randy Roussel, Trevor Haynes, Jon Benda, Jeff Tomlinson and associate Paxson Guest, environmental partners Steven Levine, Dave Topping and associate Madison Guerinot, and tax partner Ryan Moon.
