Phelps Associate Michael B. Victorian Honored by National Bar Association’s 40 Under 40
NEW ORLEANS — June 17, 2022 — Phelps associate Michael B. Victorian was chosen as one of this year’s “40 Under 40 Nation’s Best Advocates” by the National Bar Association (NBA), one of the country’s preeminent bar associations.
Each year, the NBA recognizes the nation’s top 40 lawyers under age 40 who “exemplify a broad range of high achievement in the legal field, including in advocacy, innovation, vision, leadership and overall legal and community involvement.”
“These awards are designed to recognize attorneys who have shown a true commitment to advancing important legal interests as demonstrated by their hard-work, creativity, leadership and the successes they have achieved at this stage in their respective careers,” said NBA President Carlos Moore. “The awardees were selected from a sizable list of nominees solely on merit, and the ultimate recipients are those most deserving based on the strength of their legal acumen, ingenuity and community service.”
Michael embodies these qualities in both his personal and professional life. As an associate in the firm’s Labor and Employment group, Michael guides employers through all aspects of litigation and administrative proceedings. He is also a role model in his community, mentoring Baton Rouge youth with 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge, teaching the next generation of lawyers at Southern University Law Center, and steering his community forward by leading the Greater Baton Rouge Chapter of the Louis A. Martinet Legal Society, Inc. and joining Leadership Baton Rouge. He is also an active member of both the Louisiana and Baton Rouge Bar Associations and regularly shares his knowledge and experience by publishing and presenting on employment law issues to colleagues, business leaders and law school students.
Michael will be honored with the rest of the 2022 40 Under 40 class at an awards gala on July 27 during the NBA’s 97th Annual Convention in Memphis, Tennessee.
