Phelps Boosts First-Party Property Support for Insurers with the Addition of Clinton Wolbert
HOUSTON — May 25, 2022 — Phelps welcomes partner Clinton Wolbert to the firm to help insurers contend with the sharp increase in property and disaster claims litigation. Clint has more than 10 years of trial and negotiation experience in a crucial time for the market.
"By adding Clint, we are expanding our trial capacity in Texas and throughout the region," said Phelps Managing Partner Marshall Redmon.
Clint defends insurance carriers in breach of contract, bad faith and other first-party property litigation claims. His firsthand experience as a legal secondee at a Lloyd’s of London syndicate helps him approach litigation with a deep understanding of the viewpoints of both insurers and policyholders.
"I'm excited to work with insurers on a regional and national level to scout for potential landmines early in a claim and find the best path forward in disputes, whether it be through a well-considered settlement or hard-fought litigation,” Clint said.
