Phelps Dunbar Expands Condemnation Services in Texas

Fast-growing Texas needs more infrastructure and energy — and Phelps Dunbar is poised to help. In response to the state's economic and population boom, the law firm is growing the bandwidth of its busy condemnation practice. The firm has added leading condemnation lawyers in Houston, building on an already strong Dallas-Fort Worth presence.

Now, local governments, businesses and public utilities across Texas can call on Phelps to help them use the power of eminent domain to acquire the property rights needed for gas, petroleum and water pipeline projects, as well as for the construction and operation of railroads and roadways.

Partners Fred Junkin and Elly Vecchio join Phelps from Hunton Andrews Kurth. Both have strong track records representing diverse Texas clients in condemnation matters. Junkin is an accomplished trial lawyer with nearly three decades of experience in condemnation proceedings. Vecchio has spent her entire career in the eminent domain and condemnation field and has primarily represented pipeline companies and water districts.
