Seven Phelps Lawyers Make 2021 Florida Legal Elite, John Phillips Joins Hall of Fame
TAMPA, Fla. — July 28, 2021 — Florida Trend’s Florida Legal Elite included seven Phelps lawyers among its 2021 ranks and inducted John E. Phillips into its Hall of Fame.
Only a handful of new lawyers are added each year to the Legal Elite Hall of Fame. To be considered, lawyers must have a strong track record of recognition among the Legal Elite and consistently earn high rankings from their peers.
John was recognized for his work on the firm’s Tampa labor and employment team. He helps employers in a wide range of industries prepare employment policies to avoid issues and settle disputes when needed.
Only the top 1.3% of Florida lawyers are chosen each year for Legal Elite. Phelps lawyers in the 2021 class include:
- A. Brian Albritton – Criminal law
- Karl J. Brandes – Civil Trial
- Bret M. Feldman – Construction
- Dennis M. McClelland – Labor and employment
- John D. Mullen – Labor and employment
- William J. Podolsky III – Real estate
For the past 18 years, Florida Trend has invited all in-state members of the Florida Bar to vote for lawyers they highly regard or would recommend to others. An outside vendor counted all ballots and scored lawyers based on the number of votes they received, with more weight applied to votes from outside their firms.
