Two Phelps Lawyers Tapped for Leadership Roles at the American Diabetes Association
NEW ORLEANS — MARCH 21, 2025 — Phelps New Orleans partner Christopher K. Ralston has been named chair of the national Board of Directors of the American Diabetes Association while Phelps Jackson partner Candace Gregory has been named to the organization’s Community Leadership Board for Louisiana and Mississippi.
The mission of the ADA is to be “the global leader, trusted source, preferred partner, and a connected community united to prevent and cure diabetes while improving the lives of all people affected by it,” according to the organization. More than 38 million adults and children have diabetes, with 1.2 million people diagnosed with it each year.
As national board chair, Chris leads the Board of Directors and has oversight over all aspects of the ADA. A member since 2009, this is the second time Chris is serving as chair of the national Board of Directors. In 2011, he received the ADA’s National Chair’s Citation for raising awareness of the prevalence of diabetes in Louisiana by walking 300 miles across the state. He also serves as chair of the Louisiana and Mississippi Community Leadership Board, a position he's held since 2014.
Candace served as an ADA volunteer last year and her energy and enthusiasm helped the ADA with a successful fundraising campaign. As gala chair, she will lead the “Kiss the Pig” fundraiser at the Four Seasons in New Orleans this summer. Her dedication to the cause led the Louisiana board to invite her to join its leadership.
Candace focuses her practice on litigation, cybersecurity, white collar defense, investigations and sports law. As a trained mediator, she helps assist litigants in resolving disputes before trial.
Chris focuses his practice in the areas of antitrust law, business torts, trade secret litigation, contract disputes, intellectual property litigation and appellate matters.
