Growing up in a family that owns and operates a variety of real estate projects – from Arkansas farmland to medical office space – has taught Blair Bennett to understand and anticipate the many issues and challenges that developers and lenders face.
Blair often serves as the manager in real estate transactions, ensuring that every part of the deal is being addressed – from document negotiation to title searches and survey work. She represents buyers and sellers in deals involving multi-family apartments, office buildings and industrial tracts. She negotiates lease agreements on behalf of landlords and commercial tenants.
Blair’s real estate practice also involves commercial finance. She represents borrowers and lenders in loan transactions such as commercial mortgages, development and construction loans, mezzanine financing and loan purchases.
Experience
- Represented seller in $147 million divestiture of four apartment complexes in Dallas/Fort Worth area.
- Assisted a developer in acquiring land in an Austin ETJ that was developed into a 300-unit multi-family apartment complex. Negotiated construction contracts and loans on the client’s behalf.
- Represented seller in the $105 million sale of a 429,477-square foot, 15-story office building. Assisted client in obtaining required disclosures of tenant disputes, related purchase price credits and rent prorations.
- Advise landowners on solar leases and option agreements with energy companies.
- Negotiate retail and industrial lease agreements for landlords and commercial tenants.
