Elana Beiser

Elana Beiser helps journalists, media producers and entertainment artists protect their rights. Clients rely on her to defend defamation claims, prior restraint and other First Amendment challenges, and to assert their rights of publicity, access and source confidentiality.

Elana’s legal practice is built on a foundation of newsroom experience and press freedom advocacy. She spent nearly 15 years managing teams of financial news editors and reporters in the U.S., Europe and Asia, plus a decade defending journalists’ rights at a global nonprofit. This background gives her first-hand knowledge of media operations and the delicate balance between meeting business objectives and managing the risks inherent to getting the story.

During her time in law school, Elana served as a student attorney in Tulane’s First Amendment Clinic and as managing editor of the Tulane Law Review.
