George McCall is an accomplished trial attorney with experience in a wide range of areas. He is Board Certified in civil trial law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. George focuses his practice on insurance coverage and complex commercial disputes.
George has handled hundreds of casualty cases for clients including aviation, catastrophic personal injury, product liability and mass torts. His deep experience working with insurance clients on drafting policies and advising on coverage claims gives him perspective on how to tailor solutions that mitigate their problems and meet their needs. From environmental coverage to professional liability and extracontractual ones, George advises clients on a variety of claims.
Experience
- Won a bench trial in state district court on behalf of commercial client in a breach-of-contract dispute for failure of the receiving party to pay for commercial goods received, and defense against counterclaim. The court awarded the client the full cost of the contract and attorneys’ fees.
- Served as coordination counsel handling lawsuits arising from personal injury and property damage claims after Hurricane Rita on behalf of a commercial liability insurer in mitigating risk exposure and reaching favorable settlements.
- Won a defense verdict for a client in a premises liability case before a jury where the plaintiff had significant personal injuries.
- Secured a bench trial ruling in a declaratory judgment action for a commercial umbrella liability insurer. The ruling helped the client recover the retained limit related to a settlement in an underlying catastrophic personal injury case.
- Recovered local insurance proceeds in litigation in the Bahamas for primary and excess insurance company clients. The dispute centered on policy interpretation and priority of insurance coverages.
