Homer Branan represents landowners and real estate developers before local and state governments to keep projects moving forward. He routinely manages administrative law, land use and zoning issues for clients involved in high-profile commercial and residential builds.
Decades of experience working with regulators and building relationships gives Homer insight into what agencies look for and how their processes work. He serves as special counsel to the Chickasaw Basin Authority, working closely with the Shelby County Public Works Department and U.S. Corps of Engineers to restore, develop and conserve the area’s water and land resources. His work with the Tennessee Chapter of the American Planning Association keeps him on the forefront of new county and state planning initiatives and regulations. - Advised client on development of one of Memphis’ largest resort hotels on historic entertainer’s property in consultation with entertainer’s estate and local and national regulators.
- Represented developer before local and county governments to facilitate construction of award-winning manufactured rental home community.
- Secured government approvals, including from Shelby County Land Use Control Board and Memphis City Council, for client in development of $60 million distribution center on Interstate 40 corridor east of Memphis.
- Guided development of regionally renown 140-bed women’s hospital on 80-acre campus of major Memphis health system.
