John P. McMackin

John McMackin focuses his practice on litigation and brings significant insight into courts' decision-making processes and uses this to advise clients in trial and appellate strategies. He has substantive prior trial and appellate experience with Section 1983, Title VII, the Magnuson-Stevens Act, the Mississippi Tort Claims Act and various other statutory and constitutional litigation.
Before joining Phelps, John served as a law clerk to the Honorable Michael K. Randolph for the Supreme Court of Mississippi, the Honorable Taylor B. McNeel for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi, and the Honorable Cory T. Wilson for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He also served as editor in chief of the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies.
