
Kenderick "Kenny" M. Jordan

Since his time in the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Kenny has been entrenched in the maritime industry. He served as a shipboard engineer working aboard a wide range of vessels in blue and brown waters and later aboard a drill vessel in the Gulf of Mexico.
Kenny helps mariners, vessel owners, tug and barge companies and international shipping companies resolve problems related to:

He has experience conducting shipboard investigations for vessel collisions, personal injury and cargo damage. Kenny represents clients in state and federal courts and before the U.S. Coast Guard in administrative proceedings.
Outside his admiralty practice, Kenny advises clients in contract disputes and business tort claims.
Experience
- Represented vessel owners and mariners in collision and grounding cases before the U.S. Coast Guard in Part IV investigations and Part V proceedings.
- Obtained summary judgment in favor of domestic property broker client on the basis of the Act of God defense against claim for goods damaged during Hurricane Ida while being warehoused.
- Secured dismissal of various cargo claims against a marine terminal operator based on contractual limitations of liability.
- Obtained summary judgment for international logistics company against delay damage claims.
- Successfully defended non-vessel operating common carrier from cargo insurer's indemnity claims arising from the international grounding of a cargo vessel.
- Secured dismissal on behalf of domestic property broker against cargo damage claims as federally preempted under the Federal Aviation Administration Authorization Act of 1994.
