Both an advocate and counselor, Rebecca Sha uses her breadth of knowledge to guide clients through complex and sensitive matters inside the courtroom as well as within an institution.
In her capacity as a trial lawyer, Rebecca helps clients resolve disputes, including wage and hour violations, employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation claims, commercial litigation, constitutional law, Title IX and student and faculty issues. - Defended and obtained summary judgment for ADA/disability discrimination case concerning partial sight impairment which was upheld on appeal
- Successfully defended company against FLSA collective action, including denial of conditional certification of a class
- Successfully defended application for attorney’s fees and costs in connection with FLSA collective actions, including obtaining over 50% reduction in award
- Defended maritime companies including in the California Supreme Court concerning exemption of maritime employees from overtime
- Successfully obtained highly favorable settlement of a class action age discrimination lawsuit in connection with a reduction in force
