Richard Johnson practices primarily in the areas of construction, real estate, tort and commercial litigation. His construction practice involves handling matters for developers, sureties, general contractors, subcontractors, manufacturer and/or suppliers in almost every aspect of construction projects, including the initial bid phase, disputes that arise during construction and post-construction issues which include, but are not limited to, delay damage claims, construction defect claims and bond claims. Richard’s real estate litigation practice involves litigating and advising condominium developers and owners in regards to their rights and obligations under the Alabama Condominium Act and handling disputes that arise between buyers and sellers of real estate.
His practice also focuses on personal injury claims, including trucking accidents, wrongful death, premise liability and defense of products liability claims.
Richard represents clients in state and federal courts in Alabama and Mississippi and arbitrations within and outside of the American Arbitration Association (AAA).

- Representation of developers, contractors, and/or subcontractors in pre-litigation contract disputes.
- Assisting condominium developers in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach with the formation of condominiums pursuant to the Alabama Condominium Act.
- Representation of developers related to matters arising out of Alabama Condominium Act.
- Representation of several national trucking companies and their employees in claims related to trucking accidents.
- Representation of real estate companies and/or their agents in matters arising out of the purchase and/or sale of property.
- Representation of buyers and/or sellers relating to issues arising out of the purchase and/or sale of property.
- Representation of architects and engineers on E&O claims.
- Representation of condominium board of directors on E&O claims.
- Representation of owners in premises liability claims.
- Representation of real estate agents before the Baldwin County Bar Association’s Arbitration Panel regarding commission disputes.
- Representation of contractors and their sureties in cases where claims were made against the performance bond by local government housing authorities.
- Representation of numerous suppliers and subcontractors making claims against payment bonds under Alabama's "Baby Miller Act" statute.
